I don't usually feel bad when Valentine's Day comes around, I just don't pay a lot of attention to it. But it's depressing when everyone around you is getting *somewhere* and you're just.. not. My best friend was just telling me how she almost had sex with her boyfriend for the first time, my other best friend was at my house and talking to her girlfriend and I got to read a few bits of the conversation and they were just so.. happy.. and another one of my friends just got grounded because her mom saw her kissing this dude. So yeah, I know I'm practically a baby, I'm still just 16, there's plenty of time, blah, blah, blah.. The rational approach just isn't working. The fact remains that everyone around me is hooking up, and I'm not. Yeah.
Oh God, I'm such a typical teenage girl.

I got through 98% of my high school time without anything resembling a boyfriend, so I know how you feel. All your friends are in relationships and they are so happy, and you're the odd (wo)man out. This too shall pass.by anonymous

Sure youa re a typical teen. We've all been there, or are going through it now.
It's rather normal.
Feeling a bit down is to be expected. but you never know, in a few days, weeks, months you'll be one of those who've caught the couple syndrome too.by anonymous at -
If your friend is the same age, or younger, then she's too young to be having sex.
Besides, having sex isn't "getting anywhere". Better is a slow, more mature, and possibly abstinential relationship based on mutualities and rock solid values.by anonymous at
