It seems like no ones cares about others on this site anymore. This saddens me. In the past we had so much encouragement, now it seems barely any posts have responses. Are we that consumed by our day to day life that we only have time to post something about ourselves, instead of helping, or talking to someone else?

By posting that, you are suggesting it return to those seemingly halcyon days.
I mean, you respond don't you?
I know I do.by anonymous at -
Hi Fera,
From the research I've done, I've never seen Y admit a gender. The readers at the time seemed to be 60% convinced he was male.
You're right about the advice, although helpful and valid, being poorly received by some people.
Some of us though still try to continue in that tradition,by #Silent at -
I think a lot of people who used to reply got tired of being bashed or just plain ignored for every response.
Take 'Y', he* would give his opinion on what would help the situation, and people just wanted to say "You're not a shrink! Don't judge my life!" even if it was valid advice.
*(I can't remember any more, but I think it was decided that Y was indeed male. Sorry if I'm wrong.)by Fera

I agree with the first response. Most individuals are posting secrets - vague ones at that. They're sharing something though, just not what you want. I never even knew this was an advice column though. That portion was never told to me.by anonymous at

I think that it is that post are different too. They are more like comments that do not need answers.by anonymous at
