I need to be with a simple, straightforward, sweethearted guy who has no underlying agenda or motives. Do they still exist over the age of, oh, 34, whisperers? After all that's happened, that's all I want - a "what you see is what you get" kinda man.

  • Join a club, or a group of people that do stuff you like to do on a regular basis. You will get to know people in the group through each other and see what they are like. Without the pressure of a one-on-one date, you will see the guys in the group(s) for who they really are, since they aren't trying to impress you (or shouldn't be). When you find someone interesting, ask them out for coffee or something simple, in the middle of the day when it's not like a date. Getting to know someone like this, it's more likely you will find the type of guy you are looking for. Another way is to ask guys you know well if they have any friends. They won't set you up with a head case if they care for you. Last secret? If you stop looking, he'll probably happen along quicker than you think. Good luck!

  • Hmm...I am that type of girl, but I try to hide it and pretend I'm not, because I've been so decimated in the past. Maybe you just gave me the answer: quit dating or even looking until I'm not afraid of being hurt again.

  • Depends. Are you the same sort of girl? If so, you can find that man. But if you have an underlying agenda and hidden motives you won't keep him.
