I was against abortions until I needed one.

Sometimes women that become pregnant have to put their health at risk. There are times when abortions aren't a completely lude and cruel idea.by anonymous at

Abortions should not be used for when someone gets a bit "crazy"...by anonymous at

No but it can stop the chilkd being born into a tough world where the mother cannot care or be able to finance them both. Saying they can be put into care is not a reason not to because they can have a bad life there. There are so many kids in care allready and they go through tough hard horrible times. Depending on family life styles and the person can change things. People have different circumstances and cannot be helped.by anonymous at

And that justifies denying someone life, the right to be born, and opportunities?by anonymous at

there are so many babies that need to be adopted. so. many.by anonymous at

I'm against them simply because I cannot have children and it hurts me to hear that someone who has the ability to have this gift would not want it. But I am not a judgmental person and would NEVER judge anyone for getting one, I just can't help but hurt a little.by anonymous

They are superficial, and I am superficial...so it works for me. I did not confess this to get hounded over it. Things happen and you grow up and change your mind, end of story. Write whatever else you want, because I will not be checking this post again.by anonymous at

And as for friends and networks? They'd stick by you if they were worth having. It's the test of a true friend. The reasons you gave sound very, very superficial.by anonymous at

You shouldn't compromise what is right and wrong to cover something up that you did. And who cares what "rumours swirl" you could say you were ill? Or depressed? And a career in politics isn't worth someone's life.by anonymous at

Not all kids get adopted. They would be put into care and only get left in care all their life. People who can't have kids have a lot of choice with the children that are in care who are desperate for a loving home.by anonymous at

A few clarifications...when I say I have gotten a little crazy, Im sure you are wondering how that would not tarnish my rep, versus a baby. Well, I have had very few hookups, so I am certainly not viewed as a slut. In addition, a baby is much harder to deny. Also, I am not proud and I still heavily discourage abortion when it does not create major life obstacles. However, I am glad that I will never have to worry about the issues that might have come up had I carried to term. Adoption is usually the better alternative...but for me I feel like it is very eye opening when you find yourself in tough situations and when you are forced to grow a bit.by anonymous at

Call it what you want... I was raised by catholics, and used to be very against abortion. I always saw abortion as wrong, and I still have many problems with it...it is never a "good" thing. However, in college I have become a little crazy and have made some very stupid decisions. I go to a prestigious college. I dont know that I can deal with my reputation being ruined and the stress of a pregnancy along with my intense courseload. I could take time off, but then it would be so hard to lose contact with my friends and networks, and Im sure rumors would swirl, and I plan to have a very successful career in politics. An unwanted pregnancy would not look good. Some might say it would show responsibility if I gave it up for adoption, but I just feel like there is too much at stake. I dont understand why you think I would come here to lie, and I understand that we disagree on the issue. That is fine...you wont change my mind and I wont change yours. It is the most painful thing...to end a life before it has even begun. But I just got so scared.by anonymous at

I call fake - the people who are against abortions would see adoption as a better alternative, which it is: medically, emotionally, and socially (it provides families who can't have kids the best present in the world!)by anonymous at
