I don't believe in God because in the physical world that I live in, an all-powerful being that watches over everyone in the world seems a little far-fetched, what with people starving and in pain all around the world. I understand how religion and God appeal to some people [and I'm actually considering going to divinity school] so I was wondering: what do you think comes after death?

Ah, I see. That's an interesting way of viewing it, I had never really thought of it in that way before.by Mintea

Nothing. Blackness. Unconsciousness. The utter end. Is this terrifying? Yes! But does it make life any less worth living? Absolutely not, only more so. I'm pretty sure when we die, we die, so that's as good of a reason as you can get to just go out with your friends after work, blast your favorite music, ask that special someone out no matter the chance of rejection, whatever. The fact that there may be no point to any of this and it is just one huge wild, crazy, fxxxed up ride makes me all giddy inside.by anonymous at

He allows that to happen, so that we can fix it. Many men and women devote their lives to solving the world's ills for no other reason than pure altruism. And in heaven, they are rewarded for it.by Cache at
